No more closed doors!
.

Bob carefully washes his hands and goes to the operationg room. Each door controlling access to a restricted area opens automatically for him.

At no point does Bob touch a door handle.

How does this work?

By walking into the hall to go to the operating room, Bob starts the eGo pairing between the eGo compliant device (the carpet in front of the door) and the eGo device (e.g. his belt). Once the eGo pairing is complete, the door and eGo have a logical channel of communication via which they can exchange credentials allowing the automatic opening of the door.

As soon as Bob gets out of range of the wireless system or out of the application bubble, the door closes.
